Playing with Nolan

First I have to apologize for not having a picture of the event. Here is one from our Moms Group a few weeks ago.
Now that that was said, I helped a friend out by watching her little guy Nolan. Nolan is about five weeks younger than Berlin. For the first time Berlin showed signs of jealously. At some point Kim was out of the room and Nolan started to cry, so I picked him out. At this time Berlin was across the room, saw that Nolan was in my lap, and faster than I knew it, Berlin was on my other leg. She was trying to climb on my lap. She was petting Nolan, like she was letting him know that "this is my mommy! You have one of your own, go find her!"

Bedroom inspiration

I have been dreaming of decorating our bedroom since I saw this room on a show called Sarah's House, it airs on HGTV. This is one of my favorite rooms in a long time. This is a small guest room. But I love the room. The pops of green are so refreshing, and could be changes to any color at any time very inexpensive.

If you are into design shows, I would say if and when you can watch the show, do it!!! This is just one of the rooms that is inspirational. I would move right into this house. It was perfect, minus the fact it is in Canada! What can I say, I'm a L.A. girl!

Celiac Disease Blows!!!

for those of you who don't know what it is,
Celiac disease is a digestive condition triggered by consumption of the protein gluten, which is found in bread, pasta, cookies, pizza crust and many other foods containing wheat, barley or rye. If you have celiac disease and eat foods containing gluten, an immune reaction occurs in your small intestine, causing damage to the surface of your small intestine and an inability to absorb certain nutrients.
Eventually, the decreased absorption of nutrients (malabsorption) that occurs with celiac disease can cause vitamin deficiencies that deprive your brain, peripheral nervous system, bones, liver and other organs of vital nourishment. This can lead to other illnesses and stunted growth in children. (mayoclinic.com)

I have this. It sucks. Last night I was so hungry that I could not cook, it would have taken way too long, and I had a screaming baby. So Jack in the Box was for dinner. I was told a few months ago that the onion rings were made with corn. I got them, then about twenty minutes later, I was almost in full blown mirgane. It turns out the rings are made with wheat! I am so depressed! I hate not being able to eat what I want. I cant wait for someone to come up with a cure! I can not tell you how much more money it is to eat "normaly." A loaf of bread is no less than $8.00. And the pieces are small, and no good cold. Forget cookies, cake, pizza or pasta! And fast food (i know its not good for anyone), forget it! Its so hard to eat out, and I always feel bad eating at other peoples houses.
We do know that it is genetic. My Grandmother has it, I have it, and so does my cousin. I can only hope and pray that my daughter does not have it.

the hallway

It seams to be Berlins most favorite place to be right now is in the hallway. Go figure.
The other day I was putting laundry away in her room, while she and Daddy were in the living room. Benji and I were chatting. She fallowed my voice, then got tired of crawling? and laid down with her pacifier. She was just chilling flat on her back. Just hanging out. Benji and I were cracking up! This kid makes me laugh all the time.

We were away from Berlin for something like four hours. It was hard! Benji and I had a wedding to go to, so we dropped Berlin off at my parents and went to party! We did however miss a dinner with my Parents, Nana, Baumpa, Aunt and Uncle! Let me tell you how much my little one lover her Nanny! I cant wait for Berlin to have a wonderful relationship with my mom like I had with my Nana!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is my Dads birthday (well it was when I started typing). So I would like to wright a little about him!
He is a really cool guy. He gave me everything I could ever ask for, and just keeps on giving. Now, I was not handed everything, I had to work for things. He taught me a lot. How to not through like a girl, What a wonderful man will do for his family, what the best dad looks like, how to parent, and love.
He has given me a huge love for food. When I was little, we used to go to dinner alone once a month, or more I can't remember. I can remember going to a Chinese restaurant,. when I was a little older he would take me to, what is still, my favorite sushi restaurant. There was nothing I could not get.
My Dad always encourages  me to try just a little harder than I thought I could, and win or loose he was always there for me. He is always been strong, in every situation. I remember after I broke my arm in 2000, he got up in the middle of the night to drive from Northridge to Pasadena to hold my hand, even if I was not awake. I know he never left my side, till my Mom came, then they took turns. And when I was in labor, he stopped by our house to see if there was anything I needed. It was late at night and we sent him on a wild goose chase to find me a heating pad. There was only one store open, and he and my little brother drove all over to find it.

I can not think of a better Daddy for me.
Thank you so much for being there for me at all times. And once again, Happy Birthday Daddy.

I am such a bad blogger! I have had this page for six days, and I have missed three days of posting in a row! You know why? I have no idea what to wright! I think I have to wright something to make people want to read, but I cant think of anything! My life really has nothing in it but cleaning, cooking and changing dippers! Well I also get to play with the baby. Its kind of dull! I go to a moms group on Fridays. Thank God, cause that seams like the only thing i really do for myself. I don't feel like I have a lot to say.
I've been trying to figure out how to wright about my two new favorite men. Now in real life it would be my husband, Benji, and my Dad. Now, when its late at night and I need something sweet... well I have two other favorite men. Their names, Ben and Jerry. I seam to not get enough ice cream since my chocolate soup and frosting experience. For those who don't know that story, here you go!
For Fathers Day, my little brother and I made a chocolate ice cream cake for the first two men mentioned. They both love the darkest of dark chocolate, so I thought what better to do than make them an ice cream cake. We got to our parents house and made the 'batter' chilled it.... waited a few hours before we made it into ice cream, then put it into a spring form pan. Put it in the freezer... waited... ate dinner... waited a little longer... made a meringue, took te ice cream  out of the pan, and it was more like a very cold mousse than ice cream. It taisted wonderful.
Fast forward to Benjis birthday. I wanted to make him a real ice cream cake. So three days before his birthday dinner, I made the ice cream, and put it in the freezer. The next day, I made a butter cream frosting, and frosted it. The next day I made it look good. We took it to the resturant and I handed it to the server, and said "this is an ice cream cake, it needs to go in the freezer." Which he replied "freezer" and took it away. Now we had a lot of people come to dinner, and after eating and chatting two hours later, it was time for the cake. It came with the candles lit, and all i could see was the sides of the cake had calapsed and there was chocolate soup around the frosting. I was besides myself. I finnished singing Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband, then quickly went outside to cry.
Now all that being said, I am so never going to make another ice cream cake again! EVER. Don't even ask!
Back to the point! Ben and Jerry! They have the best ice cream. One of my new favorite flavors is creme brulee, if you can find it, and one of the new new flavors is the Chocolate Macadamia.

Berlin Chatting to...

While I was making dinner tonight Benji was keeping an eye on Berlin. In the blink of an eye she crawled into the hall way, and looked up. She looked at the photo of Benjis mom, and started cooing. She did this for quite a while. She propped herself up on the wall, to get a closer look, stood and was chatting even louder. This went on for a while. It was like they were talking. Berlin was pausing so Grandma Myrna could answer her. The whole thing brought tears to my eyes. I think she is an old soul, just like her mommy.

Today we went to Sears to have another family picture done. It was a lot of fun. We got some great shots.I will post them in 2 weeks when we get them. But I cant wait to show you all the heart breaker next week. As I am writing this, it all works together. Myrna must have been with us all day.

Breakfast!

For the last few months, I've been making breakfast just about every morning. I am not too found of the making or cleaning, but the eating, has become a new love of mine! I have never really been a big fan of this meal, probably because most often it is very gluten filled. And I did not know how I liked my eggs! (a big question since I saw Run A Way Bride) But I found it! I LOVE scrambled eggs! They don't need anything in them. Just two eggs scrambled. But I really like them with cheese! Yum! I have a new love for cheese too! Which I must say is driving my Husband crazy!
In the morning Benji wakes up with the baby around 7- 7:30, 8 if we are really lucky, and he plays with her till about 9 when they come wake me up with a big gummy smile (from the baby of course), I put Berlin to sleep and go in the kitchen to make my new favorate new meal! Most of the time its potatos, in the new cast iron pan (thanks to my parents) with onions, bell peppers and sometimes left over stake. Then come the eggs! I love mine with mushrooms and cheddar cheese! The more cheese the better. Now this all sounds good, but by the time I've chopped everything up, 30 mins have gone by, and by now the house smells good! Thats when Berlin wakes up! So much for eating a hot meal! Daddy get her a piece of fruit and puts her in her highchair, and we can all eat together! That kid loves her fruit! But if Benji is really lucky, Ill make gluten free pancakes! Super yummy!

Now that you know how I start my day, I'm getting in the shower! Hope you have a good day!

This is Berlin with her fruit. She goes nuts over it!

My first post!

Welcome to my Blog!
I am thinking this is a great way to keep in touch with family and friends that I cant talk to every day. I can post videos and pictures and everyone can see them, without having to check out Facebook.

Berlin is seven and a half months old and wants to stand all the time! She has perfected crawling. Now she wants to go onto bigger and better things. Walking! She is such a good girl! She really does not fuss too much. And gives me a great big smile whenever she sees me. It makes my heart melt every time I see her.

Anyway keep in touch, I will try to post a little every day. Even if its just a picture!
