Abbot Kinney Festival

I have been going to the Abbot Kinney Festival for the last 4 years, and I have to say, this year was the best! The weather was a little warm, and I now look like a lobster, but the vendors and vibe were the best yet. There was a bunch of 'food trucks.' However you could not get to them cause the lines were so long. I got to see a bunch of old friends, and even some new ones. A few of them even had booths there. And I'd like to plug them!

First is Opal Moon Designs
Benji worked with Kerrie on a movie two years ago. We bumped into her not long after the movie wrapped. And I've been fallowing her on her website here. I love her clothes, but have been drooling over this belt she makes. You can buy and her designs here.  For a little pre view, here is the belt and a picture from the Festival.

JD is one of the spiciest men I know! And makes the ONLY hot sauce I like! And its HOT! When I was pregnant I would put it on some gluten free chicken strips and make myself some hot wings! Yum! He makes some of the most flavorful hot sauces around. I would say go to his website and get yourself some!  Just an fyi, Benji eats the Chipotle Garlic Sauce almost every morning!

Mr. Kate jewelry

I went to school with this lady. We never really talked. She is a very talented jewelry designer, decorator, blogger, artist and actress, (you may have seen her in Entourage, and you can see all of the above on her website). And she does not know it, but she played a huge part of inspiring me starting my blog.

Kate has a line of jewelry that I LOVE! You can find her here.
This is one of my very favorite pieces she has!

She has an amazing since of fashion, and always has. Her Blogs are a fun quick read, and I totally encourage you to fallow her posts, and buy LOTS of MrKate jewelry. And as soon as I buy a piece I will post a picture and let you know how wonderful it is!

Here are a few of more of my favorites

This is kind of a make your own. You can mix and match the colors.

I'd rather be blue, thinking of you...

It seams that the 'Baby Blues' are out to get me again.
You wanna talk about a whole bunch of no fun. Well this is. It was bad the other day, and to 'try' to cheer me up Benji kicked me and Berlin out of the house for a walk. I  walked north. About two miles north. I walked by the Whole Foods, Starbucks, some salons, and finnaly it was getting cold and there was Wallpaper City. I called Benji to come and get us, and dreamed about what I want our house to look like. Then today a very good friend and I went to Ikea. One of my fav places in the world. Since I have never lived on my own, or decorated my house from beginning to end, I love to dream, and being broken hearted when I see the price tags. But we do have a change jar filling with change that will be turned into a new dinning table! I cant wait!

by the way... sorry about not blogging as much as I would like. My laptop died on me... another one bites the dust!

The Berlin Wall

Benjamin is working from home right now. He has a bright yellow tool box that Berlin loves to push around the house. Well she likes to push it against the front door and then pound on it, and every time she does Benjamin gets distracted and starts to play or talk to her. So he built this wall.
It took her all of two minutes for her to push the box out of her way, and she was free!

Cupcake!!!

If you have not read my blog before you may not know that I keep a gluten free diet for the last three and a years. So I missed out on the Cupcake craze. I have never been the baking type, however I watched my Mom for years, and when I can, I veg in front of "Cupcake Wars" on Food Network.
For Benjamins birthday party I found a gluten and corn free cake mix, and make an amazing cake. It was a huge hit! Tomorrow night I am taking the baby to Nanny and Grandpas house, so I decided I would make dessert. I picked up one of these cake mixes and thought to myself; 'If I make a cake then Benji does not get any... so lets make cupcakes!' I made the lil cakes as I was making dinner, and after my amazing husband cleaned the kitchen I made frosting! Yum yum! So needless to say I am in sugar heaven right now! I had one of them and I am now soooo happy! I just have to say a HUGE thank you to 123 GLUTEN FREE! I am totally in love with you!

'As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.'

Last night was no fun putting Berlin to sleep. She sometimes puts herself to sleep while 'singing.' Well someone has to bounce her. So that was me for a good hour and a half, at least. Then she would not sleep alone, or next to me. So we slept on the couch last night. She was on my chest, and I was melting! I do love it when she does that. We slept well, then 7am came around and she hit me in the face a few times to wake me up. I did the usual thing, changed her dipper, put her in her crib for some play time and went back to sleep. Benji then got up with her when she was done being on her own. They played and had a grand time. Around 9am she must have been wondering where I was, so she crawled into the hall way looked in the bathroom, saw that I was not there then crawled to my closed bedroom door. Stood up, and slapped the door a few times! As if to say "Mom! You are the only one not up! Get up Mom!" She puts a smile on my face all the time!

universal city walk

I have been feeling a little blue the last few days, so I told Benji we need to do something fun. Today we got in the car and went to Universal City Walk. Now I have not been there in a few years. Somewhere around three years I think. Let me tell you how disappointing it was. It used to be fun shops. Like joke places. There was a magic store, a black light store... now it is all overly priced chained food places, and stores like Abercrombie and Fitck, and Guess. I mean come on!! If I wanted to go to these stores I would go to my mall.
We did have a wonderful time as a family. Berlin was in a great mood the whole time, and we took turners holding her and pushing the stroller.
Ok well she just woke up. so Good night I guess this is the end of this blog

Where Is the Life That Late I Led?

Friday night and everyone is out having fun, going to bars, movies, clubs, and god knows what else. I get to stay home alone with an 8 month old and piles of laundry and dirty dishes. Now ladies doesn't that sound like loads of fun. Except that this is what most nights are like.

However tonight I have my favorite girlfriends from New York. The Sex And The City movie. The first one. And how is it that I feel like a cross between Samantha and Miranda? Not that I have ever wanted to "be" any of them.

One day I will feel like me again. I'm just hopping that it will be much sooner than later. Any tips? Really! I could use some help, and its not like me to ask.

Running around.

Since we are having a birthday party for Benji this weekend, and its Labor day weekend, so I said 'no way in hell am I going to Costco on Friday!' So we ran all over the place to get the party stuff! The only thing I have to do tomorrow is get a Pinata, and twister. This is going to be a funny party! When was the last time you went to an adults party with a Pinata?!? Lets see how long I can stay at the party with the baby! I hope I can get some of the cake I have to make! Hopefully I will get some pictures to share.

And just a little bit about Berlin, she was amazing! She is such a trooper! Then she had a play date with Armand. Story and pictures to come tomorrow.
